Custodian (STLO)

ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities has an immediate, full-time opening for an experienced Custodian/Laborer for ASM Global/David L. Lawrence Convention Center. The candidate will be assigned to perform daily cleaning on a grand scale of the facility that includes the Exhibit Halls, Meeting Rooms, Common Areas, Service Corridors, Mechanical Rooms, Loading Docks, Parking Garage, Offices and DLCC Grounds. Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working environment at all times.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Daily emptying of commercial sized trash and recycle bins, composting, mopping, sweeping, dusting, and general cleaning.
• Clean Administration Office and Lunchroom/breakroom daily, and in a timely manner.
• Fully clean, sterilize, mop, and replenish supplies daily in restrooms. Restrooms are composed individual male, female and family room sections which may have 10- 12 stalls, sinks, toilets, mirrors, trash bins, counter tops, mirrors, and soap dispensers each.
• Perform duties assigned by supervisor and assist in projects as needed such as seasonal projects, pressure washing, maintain cleanliness of loading docks, cleaning building perimeter, composting and exterior glass cleaning.
• Monitor all cleaning supply inventory to ensure availability. Notify Supervisor when more supplies need to be ordered.
• Cleaning of 1.5 million square foot facility including windows, walls, dusting high hanging fixtures, railings, racking, lighting, escalators, and intense cleaning as designated by your supervisor.
• Adhere to DLCC floor care standards as it relates to carpet care, tile & grout, hard surfaces, terrazzo, and other surfaces.
• Maintain all equipment used and return to designated storage areas. Perform all cleaning of equipment after every use and as necessary to ensure good working order.
• Operation and proper care of mechanized equipment including, but not limited to, riding sweepers/scrubbers, heavy duty pick-up truck w/snowplow, utility carts, skid steer.
• Operation of aerial platform equipment only when necessary and authorized by Management.
• Adhere to DLCC sustainability and safety standards and protocols.
• Interact with all DLCC Customers and Clients in a professional and courteous manner.
• Perform all work in compliance with ASM Global guidelines.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in facility Housekeeping or commercial Janitorial services preferred.
• Working knowledge of cleaning different types of flooring including terrazzo, tile, and carpeting
• Customer Service and Interaction experience
• Experienced safe operation of mechanized equipment preferred.
• Prior certification on powered equipment preferred with the ability to obtain future employer sponsored operation certifications per OSHA standards.

Physical Demands:

• Position requires frequent walking, standing, climbing, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, driving, lifting, and carrying over 50 lbs. daily.
• Ability to enter and exit equipment safely with good eye and hand coordination and reflexes for the safe operation of equipment.

Work Environment:

• This position requires work inside and/or outside of the building, as needed by events and is subjected to changing climate and adverse weather conditions.
• The worker is subjected to noise. Noise levels will vary depending on task and events in the building.
• The worker is subjected to a variety of physical conditions, such as, moving vehicles, working on high places, exposure to cleaning chemicals.
