BabyCenter and What to Expect are trusted global brands supporting millions of parents through every stage of pregnancy and parenting. We’re looking for an Associate Community Manager to expand how we show up for parents beyond our owned platforms. This role is about sparking conversations, fostering trust, and building meaningful connections in the spaces where parents are already talking — whether that’s in social media comments, Facebook Groups, or relevant subreddits.The ideal candidate lives and breathes digital community culture, has a sharp editorial voice, and thrives on listening, engaging, and creating safe, supportive spaces for parents online. This role reports to the Senior Manager, Social Media Content. Key ResponsibilitiesCommunity Engagement
- Proactively identify and join in high-value community conversations across platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook Groups, Reddit, and other forums/social channels as appropriate) where BabyCenter and What to Expect can add meaningful, non-promotional value to foster connection and brand trust.
- Respond to comments, direct messages, and other questions and discussions in a warm, empathetic, and brand-right voice while adhering to platform norms and expectations.
- Spot opportunities to organically share BabyCenter and What to Expect content.
- Build relationships with community moderators, group admins, and key parent voices where appropriate.
- Help identify and recruit parents, experts, and other relevant voices for community-driven initiatives.
- Partner with editorial and social teams to align community activity with content priorities and seasonal moments.
- Track and report on engagement metrics to evaluate community health/target audience sentiment and suggest improvements.
- Translate community conversations, parent feedback, and trending topics into actionable insights for the editorial, social, and product teams.
- Identify recurring parent pain points that can inform content gaps or new initiatives and surface to relevant teams.
- 2+ years of experience in community management, social media engagement, or a related digital role.
- Familiarity with online communities (Reddit, Facebook Groups, TikTok, Instagram) and how people interact in them.
- Ability to spot trends and pitch content ideas based on community conversations.
- Excellent writing skills with an ability to adapt voice and tone for different platforms.
- Strong organizational skills and comfort juggling multiple conversations at once.
- Empathy, patience, and a passion for supporting parents.
- Ability to work in our New York City office 1 day a week.
