Director, Project Engineering

About the role: 

As the Director of Project Engineering at 10X genomics, you will be responsible for building a world-class VAVE program to identify and realize COGS improvements across our current and future product portfolio. You will have expertise in business process development, strategic thinking, cross functional team leadership and program management. As a cross-functional leader you will combine innovation with results driven approaches to reduce product costs, for reagents, consumables, and instruments, with improved on time delivery, and associate financial results. Reporting the Head of R&D, you will manage and lead teams and projects in a matrixed environment and interface with a multidisciplinary group of individuals. 

 

What you will be doing: 

• Identify, prioritize, and execute on VAVE projects
• Identify and deliver on continuous improvement projects for product development and manufacturing
• Manage and lead projects in a matrixed environment
• Partner with R&D Program Management and other business unit leaders 
• Deliver outstanding financial results from identified projects

Minimum Requirements: 

• Masters in Mechanical Engineering related discipline, with 10 years experience in Life Sciences or Molecular Diagnostics industries
• Demonstrated leadership and management experience with a track record of leading teams and projects to successful endpoints and commercialization
• Experience leading and achieving results for VAVE for reagents (enzymes, chemicals, consumables and instruments)
• Experience working in regulated environments is a plus, but not required
• Experience with molecular biology, optics and spectroscopy, software, firmware, genetics and genomics are a plus

Below is the base pay range for this full time position.  The actual base pay will depend on several factors unique to each candidate, including one’s skills, qualifications, and experience.  At 10x, base pay is also just one component of the Company’s total compensation package.  This role is also eligible for 10x’s equity grants, its comprehensive health and retirement benefit programs, and its annual bonus program or sales incentive program.  Your 10x recruiter can share more about the Company’s total compensation package during the hiring process.

Pay Range$212,400—$259,600 USD
