ECG Technician

Work Schedule: 
100 FTE%, 40 hours per week, day shift. Monday through Friday 10:00AM – 6:30PM with rotating weekends and holidays. The weekend/holiday shifts will be evening shift 2:30PM – 11:00PM. You will work at University Hospital in Madison, WI. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.

We are seeking an ECG Technician (Electrocardiogram Tech):

• Perform electrocardiograms (ECGs) and apply various longer term ECG monitors (24hrs to 30 days) on patients.
• Opportunities to educate both adult and pediatric patients on testing procedures.
• Ensure that patients are positioned correctly, apply electrodes accurately, and assess the quality of ECG tracings.
• Opportunities to facilitate stress testing under the supervision of cardiologist, advanced practice providers or clinical exercise physiologist.
• Collaborate with all levels of clinical staff throughout the hospital.
• Gain valuable hands-on clinical experience while learning on the job.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent Required
• Technical or Associate’s Degree in Healthcare related field Preferred

Work Experience

• 1 year of Electrocardiograph Technician experience Preferred

Licenses & Certifications

• CPR Certification within 180 Days Required
• CCT, CRAT, or equivalent Preferred
