Associate and Experienced Structural Design Engineer

The Boeing CompanyThe Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking an Associate and Experienced Structural Design Engineer – (Level 2 and Level 3) to join the Air Vehicle Engineering team located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Position Responsibilities: (Level 2)
- Assists to develop, integrate and document structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system design.
- Develops, maintains and modifies basic structural and interior payload system and component designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle.
- Performs tests to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
- Assists with supplier development, test and production activities and coordination with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals.
- Supports investigation of emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements.
- Provides engineering design disposition on discrepancies (e.g., rejection tags, production action requests, shop revision requests).
- Participates in technical review of supplier capabilities to facilitate source selection.
- Documents processes, specifications and procedures that support the design and manufacture of structural commodities.
- Assesses and resolves product/process issues through the product lifecycle.
- Supports cross-functional teams to analyze, conduct root cause analysis and develop dispositions for complex design non-conformances.
- Works under general supervision.

- Performs, integrates analytical and test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications
- Manages supplier development, test and production activities and coordinates with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals
- Develops new design/analysis processes and tools to improve the effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort
- Investigates emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements
- Provides engineering design disposition on discrepancies (e.g., rejection tags, production action requests, shop revision requests).
- Participates in technical review of supplier capabilities to facilitate source selection.
- Documents processes, specifications and procedures that support the design and manufacture of structural commodities.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
- 2 or more years of experience in mechanical and/or structural design
- 2 or more years of experience creating, executing, reviewing, and managing structural design models
- 2 or more years of experience working conceptual, preliminary and detailed design including 2D drawings and 3D deliverables
- 2 or more years of experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
- 2 or more years of experience in CAD/CAM software (CATIA V5, SolidWorks, Siemens NX)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Active U.S. Secret Clearance
- Experience validating or verifying
