We are seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer in Small Animal Medicine, to join a team of outstanding world class clinical specialist academic colleagues at the University Veterinary Teaching Hospital Sydney. The University Veterinary Teaching Hospital is one of the core teaching and research facilities in the Sydney School of Veterinary Science, a globally ranked veterinary school. You will provide leadership, coordination, delivery, and assessment of veterinary medicine to DVM1, 2, 3 and 4. You will also provide specialist level small animal medicine clinical service to clients of the University Veterinary Teaching Hospitals in Sydney and be actively engaged in high quality research to the discipline area of Small Animal Medicine.

The academic environment is different from commercial specialty practice with the academic mission of teaching and research being central to operations. The primary focus is to contribute to the development, teaching, and assessment of small animal medicine in the veterinary science curriculum. This will include providing a high-quality clinical service to clients of the University Veterinary Teaching Hospitals and supporting the other clinical services. You will actively participate in the School’s clinical research programs and provide excellent teaching to students. You are not focused on caseload benchmarks of revenue targets but rather on making a difference, leaving a legacy for the profession, and undertaking research that changes the lives of animals.
