Description


Job Title: Nursery Kitchen Assistant

Hourly Rate: £12.26 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, between 7:30am and 6:15pm
Location: Little Elms, Shirley

We are currently looking for a Nursery Kitchen Assistant to join our dedicated team. You will be supported by our experienced Head Chef and become part of a friendly and professional environment.

What We’re Looking For:
  • A basic understanding of environmental health standards
  • Familiarity with COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) management systems
  • A shared passion for promoting healthy eating to children
  • Awareness of allergy management procedures
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative
  • Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene qualification (Training can be provided before taking on cooking responsibilities)

The successful candidate will be required to complete online safeguarding training and will need to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.


Key Responsibilities

  • Follow the nursery’s allergy management systems to ensure the safety of all children
  • Prepare meals on time, in line with the nursery’s daily routine and menu plans
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and tidy kitchen environment at all times
  • Ensure that all environmental health and hygiene standards are met and upheld
