Overview

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School graduate
• Excellent oral and written communication and keyboarding skills
• Basic knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, disease processes, medical transcription.

Desired Qualifications:

• Previous health related studies/experience
• Completion of course of study for Medical Scribe.
• College student with some medical experience or terminology; or Medical student

Licensure/Registration/Certification:

• Clinical Information Manager (CIM) certification  through the American College of Clinical Information Managers

 

 

 

Responsibilities

Facilitates an accurate and complete medical record for each patient by accompanying physician into exam rooms and documenting medical history and exam findings in the computerized medical record as examination proceeds.  Abstracts the patient record prior to the office visit.  There are no direct patient care tasks.
