Position: Medical Assistant - Pediatrics
Location: Grand Rapids
Full Time: 40-hours/week
Days: Monday-Friday
Time: 8am-5pm
This position is for our Pediatrics office. Ideal candidate would have experience working in Pediatrics and/or Family Medicine.

Urologic Consultants is a private urology practice in partnership with Michigan Institute of Urology and an affiliate of Solaris Health LLC. We have ten providers that specialize in urological care for male, female and pediatric patients. Our team is dedicated and strives to provide high quality patient care in a work family environment.
Job Overview:
The Medical Assistant will be responsible for preparing and managing the daily patient workflow for the urology Nurse Practitioner. Duties include reviewing patient charts prior to appointment to ensure proper medical information has been provided, rooming patients, collecting vitals such as weight and blood pressure, accurately documenting medical information in EMR, assisting with procedures such as cystoscopies, biopsies, catheter removals and providing patient education. Requires a positive, caring attitude and an ability to work both independently and with the team. Responsibilities:
· Provide exceptional customer service; communicating with patients, visitors and co-workers in a kind and respectful manner
· Ask preliminary exam questions and document appropriately in EMR
· Obtain and document patient vital signs and summary of patients visit
· Assist providers with in-office procedures
· Timely and accurate completion of lab requests for specimens
· Obtain prior authorizations in a timely manner for patient medications
· Prep charts for upcoming patient visits
· Assist in proper cleaning of all instruments and equipment
· Annual review and training of OSHA, Waste Management and Procedure guidelines
· Assist fellow staff members and substitute, when needed
· Perform telephone triage, assessment, screening and patient education, when needed
Skills:
· Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
· Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
· Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality and professionalism
· Knowledge of EMR documentation and charting
