We’re experiencing exciting growth and are looking to add 2 part‑time associates to our Surge Team to support annuity transaction processing during peak hours. This team plays a key role in managing volume increases, supporting Annuity New Business, and helping reduce overtime while maintaining high service standards. The Surge Team provides flexible support during high‑volume periods and serves as a feeder group to meet evolving business needs.
Work Location Requirement
Primary Location:

Residency Requirement:
Applicants must live within a 35‑mile radius of the Grandview Heights location due to in‑office and training requirements.
Training Schedule
Duration: 3 weeks
Format: In‑person training
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM

Full on‑site participation during the training period is required prior to transitioning to the hybrid schedule.
Work Schedule (Hybrid)
Part‑Time Hours: 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM (25 hours per week)

Monday & Tuesday: In office
Wednesday – Friday: Work from home
This role does not qualify for employer-sponsored work authorization. Nationwide does not participate in the Stem OPT Extension program.

Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Processes business requests according to government regulations, contract provisions and internal procedures and controls. Adheres to high standards of professional conduct consistent with the delivery of excellent customer service.
Provides outstanding quality customer service by demonstrating and understanding customer needs and emphasizing timely responses.
Maintains current knowledge of contract and product provisions, administration of Nationwide products, processing systems and related federal and state regulations.
Integrates lean methodology into daily interactions through problem-solving meetings and team huddles.
Consults and interprets contract provisions for current and past products and assumed business for policyholders, agents/brokers and other operating units. Includes understanding topics that require insurance or securities license and registration and understands when and how to route those inquiries to the properly registered representative.
May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Reporting Relationships: Reports to Operations Division Manager or Service Team Unit Manager.
Typical Skills and Experiences:
Education: High school studies. Undergraduate studies desirable. Participation in technical coursework such as LOMA, CLU, ChFC desirable.
License/Certification/Designation: FINRA Series 6 license preferred, and may be required, based on assigned product/line-of-business or distribution system.
Experience: One to three years of work experience with product-related customer service work experience preferred.
