Job Summary

This is an intermediate professional level position. The IT Technical Analyst provides support to the IT senior level staff to implement and support a broad range of facility-based IT equipment or software. May participate in the development and/or research of advanced technologies. May solicit input from project managers and stakeholders in developing business case documentation, features and requirements. Works closely with business unit to review day to day support services, to analyze and to validate the accuracy of information, and work with the IT senior level staff to determine the feasibility of solutions. This role provides input into the in-scope technical architecture for sourcing projects. Must be able to apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Key Accountabilities
- Under general supervision, drafts documents, maintains project features, requirements, use cases, change requests, review results, as well as project artifacts in accordance with organizational standards and processes.
- May participate in efforts in the identification of high potential technologies and coordinating the implementation into the standard applications practices of DTE; may participate in the development of plans, schedules, and projects to ensure on time and on budget implementation of best-in-class solutions while meeting corporate goals.
- May work closely with outside vendors to evaluate vendorsÆ solutions for applicability to DTE's business needs.
- Remains current with technologies and provides research and/or evaluation of specific products as required by management relevant to area of responsibility, i.e. Server Engineering, Network Engineering, Database Administration, Security, etc.
- Actively participates in working sessions used to elicit features and gather requirements. Gathers information, analyzes, designs, makes recommendations, and participates in solution implementation in area of responsibility.
- May be responsible for the set up and repair of infrastructure and resolution of desktop incidents.
- Acts as a liaison among stakeholders, project team, and leadership in order to understand the structure, policies, and operations of an organization; works in conjunction with team members and our architectural direction to recommend pathways that enable the organization to achieve its goals.
- May have responsibilities for trouble ticket/problem resolution.
- Provides planning and time estimates on assignments.
- Performs both independent and collaborative analysis activities.
- Works on projects of moderate to high complexity that may involve one or more business partners, interfaces or systems.
- Maintains an awareness of relevant technology trends, innovations and analysis techniques in the industry; works toward certification in areas of expertise.
- May assist with formal or informal presentations.
- May provide assistance with preparation of budget forecasting and other related financial reporting.
- Promotes continuous improvement philosophy and methodology that results in a continuous improvement culture within Information Technology. May utilize a variety of Operating System principles and tools to facilitate effective solutions that improve process design in all areas of the business.
