Technical Support Specialist

The Chemical and Fuel Cycle Technologies division is seeking a technical support specialist to provide expertise, support, coordination, and guidance, as needed, to ensure that the division complies with Argonne environment, safety and health policies and initiatives. Specific responsibilities of the individual comprises executing the division’s work planning and control program including chairing the experimental safety review committee meetings, documenting the results of the meetings, conducting walk-throughs of experimental activities, and supporting division management in responding to safety assessments. In addition, the individual will serve as the Division Nuclear Material Contact, CURIE facility inventory manager, ALARA coordinator and respond to requests from Laboratory organizations for data such as the annual NESHAP report.
Position Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a chemistry, chemical engineering, or relevant field, or equivalent
Knowledge of safety engineering practices and techniques
Skill in contributing effectively to a team effort
Skill in effectively producing end results through self-motivated efforts
Skill in interacting with a broad range of technical, managerial and administrative staff personnel
Knowledge of procedures used by regulatory and other government agencies
Skill in oral presentation and written communication techniques
Skill in being responsive to requests and requirements

To perform the essential functions of this position successful applicants must provide proof of U.S. citizenship, which is required to comply with federal regulations and contract.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Q level clearance.
PT2: bachelor’s degree and 2+ years’ experience , some occupations may require graduate degree
