Primary Responsibilities
· Lead and mentor a team of SDETs responsible for developing and maintaining test automation across complex automotive software systems, with emphasis on infotainment, embedded platforms, and cloud-connected services.
· Architect and implement robust test automation frameworks for system-level, functional, performance, stress, and fault-injection testing tailored for automotive-grade software.
· Embed quality early in the development cycle by collaborating with system architects, developers, and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) teams to define test strategies and validation plans.
· Support career development through coaching, 1:1s, feedback cycles, and performance evaluations, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous learning.
· Manage end-to-end quality planning, including risk-based testing, resource allocation, and progress tracking for multiple vehicle programs or product lines.
· Partner with global software, hardware, and quality teams to coordinate dependencies and ensure consistent delivery across distributed systems.
· Stay current with automotive compliance and safety standards (e.g., ISO 26262, ASPICE) and ensure test strategies align with regulatory and OEM requirements.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Proven experience building and leading geographically distributed test automation teams in the automotive domain.
· Deep understanding of software testing methodologies, with practical experience in embedded systems, infotainment stacks, and over-the-air (OTA) systems.
· Proficient in Python (or similar), with strong knowledge of test automation frameworks such as Pytest and integration into CI/CD pipelines.
· Hands-on experience with tools commonly used in automotive test and validation (e.g., Vector CANoe/CANalyzer, dSPACE, Appium for HMI testing).
· Agile development experience with tools like Jira, GitLab, and Confluence.
· Strong analytical and communication skills, capable of influencing at both the engineering and executive level.
Qualifications
· 8+ years of related experiences with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD without experience or equivalent work experience
Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors. The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs.
