This role supports Cleveland Clinic's mission of providing clinical based care to our patients using non-pharmaceutical manual therapy techniques to help with pain relief, increase mobility, and increase quality of life. We are looking for a PRN (as needed) LMT/Chiropractor assistant. This role will include job responsibilities such as assisting our chiropractor team with patient care, performing chair massages for caregivers and providing 1:1 (50min) Therapeutic Massages for patients.
A caregiver in this position works 7:30am—5:00am or 8:00am—3:30pm. A minimum of 20 hours a month/ 4 shifts a month are required for this role. (PRN ROLE)
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Administer therapeutic massage and bodywork modalities, including techniques that provide deep tissue, Swedish, trigger point, stretching, pregnancy/post-partum massage, acupressure, reflexology, and hydrotherapy for Chiropractic patients.
Administer therapeutic services, including electrical stimulation, therapeutic ultrasound, and stretching and strengthening activities (Under the direction of the chiropractic physician).
Work within the Scope of Practice as a Licensed Massage Therapist and an Unlicensed Supportive Personnel under the Ohio Revised Code
Interview patients to determine medical history, condition, desired results, and appropriate modality.
Monitors patient's responses to treatment and adjusts, changes, or terminates treatment based on feedback.
Document patient information, interview responses, treatments, feedback, and results.
Maintain therapy area in a clean, safe, sterile, and Organizational state.
Assist patients to safely perform activities related to the development of strength and endurance
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
High school graduate or equivalent
Graduate of an accredited massage therapy training program
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
1 year of experience providing massage services or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience
