Industrial Maintenance Technology Instructor – Dual Enrollment

Giles County High School

 

TCAT Pulaski is accepting applications for the full-time, 10-month position of Industrial Maintenance Technology Instructor to be located at Giles County High School for Dual Enrollment CTE students.

1. This position is being partially funded by the Governor’s Investment in Vocational Education (GIVE) 3.0 Grant.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Strong hands-on technical background in mechanical maintenance, electrical motor controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, preventive maintenance, computer software and hardware skills, AC/DC electrical, multimeter use, and technical math.
• Minimum three (3) years of successful experience in the Industrial Maintenance field within the last five years.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Evidence of potential teaching ability.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Electrical, PLC, Automation, and Robotics experience preferred.
• A.S. Degree or Technical Diploma preferred. 
• Prior teaching experience preferred.

 

SKILLS:

• Possess the organizational and communication skills necessary to interact effectively with high school CTE students as well as faculty, staff, the public, and business/industry representatives.
• Must be willing to learn and use classroom management best practices and individualized instructional techniques.
• Must be willing to remain current in the Industrial Maintenance profession.
• Must possess the computer skills necessary to be an effective instructor.

 

GENERAL DUTIES:

• Provide theory and hands-on skills instruction to high school CTE students in areas including, but not limited to, blueprint reading, pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems, electric motors, predictive and preventative maintenance, robotics, PLC programming, technical math, and electrical safety.
• Monitor, grade, and evaluate individual CTE students’ performance and progress; maintain appropriate records; prepare and submit timely reports.
• Participate in in-service training, workshops, and other programs for professional growth.
• Participate in student organizations (SkillsUSA, etc.).
• Maintain a well-organized, safe, and clean lab and/or classroom.
• Be responsible for equipment and supplies assigned to the lab and/or classroom.
• Supervise and follow-up on CTE students participating in Work-Based Activities.
• Teach the Work Ethics curriculum.
• Perform other duties as directed and assigned by the administration.

 

SALARY:

In accordance with guidelines established by the Tennessee Board of Regents and the Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology.
