SUMMARY:
The Supervisor Production plays a key role in leading daily operations to ensure high production levels, strong yields, consistent quality, and a safe working environment. This role requires a solid understanding of the production process, strong attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate staffing and workflow effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Operations
- Review daily production orders to ensure customer requirements are met.
- Confirm all positions are staffed before production line start‑up.
- Monitor machinery to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.
- Maintain accurate production records and oversee general line maintenance.
- Ensure all workstations pass USDA Inspection before operations begin.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead Team Member morning exercises and manage job rotation to support ergonomics.
- Communicate company benefits and compensation policies to Team Members.
- Provide coaching, encouragement, and support to build an engaged, high‑performing team.
- Conduct training, retention efforts, and counseling for personal and professional matters.
Safety & Compliance
- Promote daily safety awareness and conduct monthly safety meetings.
- Support compliance with all company, USDA, and food safety standards.
Quality & Inventory Management
- Ensure proper product coding, accurate shipments, and correct rotation of inventory.
- Track reworked or returned product and maintain required documentation.
- Reinforce the importance of quality through continuous education.
Collaboration & Problem-Solving
- Work closely with other supervisors to identify and solve operational issues.
- Support various processing operations as needed and assist with additional duties as they arise.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High school diploma; education beyond high school including special training, vocational school and/or college courses is preferred.
Computer Skills: Basic computer skills helpful.
Communication Skills: Strong communication skills.
Supervisory: This position is responsible for supervising a group of personnel who perform somewhat identical and related tasks or activities.
Travel: 1-5 trips per year.
