About the role

Role Overview:

This role will be supporting the development and production of key analytics and NA level management information for the Commercial Insurance leadership team.  We’re looking for a strategic, detail-oriented Business Partner to help senior leadership gain a better understanding of their numbers.  In this highly visible role, you’ll own the process of collecting, summarizing and interpreting top line performance metrics across NA Commercial. A clear presentation of detailed production and key performance indicators along with insightful analysis is required to enable NA management to successfully execute on strategy and running of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting and Analytics:

  • Strengthen the current Portfolio Management framework by establishing and enhancing analytics with forward looking metrics and KPI’s
  • Embed the use of common key performance metrics and leverage analytics to provide insight that drives action
  • Support execution of business strategy in support of NA Commercial’s and Global AIG profitability objectives
  • Coordinate with segment and corporate teams to drive consistency in framework and aggregation of NA Business Units
  • Execute timely, accurate financial reporting ensuring completeness and integrity of financial statements and disclosures
  • Provide concise, insightful narratives of KPIs, highlighting trends and drivers.  Provide contextual commentary that helps leadership quickly understand trends, risks and opportunities.

Financial Planning:

  • Support NA planning and forecast cycles, aligning deliverables and reporting outputs
  • Help define and streamline cadence of key reviews and key templates

Business Partnering:

  • Support tracking of business plan execution across North America
  • Partner with the Business Leads in tracking of key performance metrics across North America and delivery of results to senior leadership
  • Coordinate with North America Business Units and support improvement of processes across the organization
  • Streamline reporting workflows to ensure timely, accurate and scalable delivery of performance insights.

The candidate will possess proven analytical, communication and organizational skills. The successful candidate will have a track record of being able to drive organizational change both within the financial arena and throughout the supported organization. It is imperative that the Senior Finance Analyst possess excellent business acumen, strong analytical skills, along with the expertise to navigate and achieve the organization's financial goals.
 

This individual must have experience across a broad range of financial disciplines and be a forward thinking and progressive leader. The candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience in managing both strategic and tactical activities within finance and have experience managing internal and external business partners across various business disciplines.

Job Requirements:

  • At least 5+ years of progressive accountancy or finance experience
  • BA degree or equivalent
  • Strong Business and Financial acumen and ability to present issues clearly and concisely
  • Background in P&C analysis, Premium/Production experience preferred
  • Experience in forecasting and modelling and strong knowledge of business performance and metrics
  • Superior understanding of the financial dynamics of a Property Casualty insurer and the related growth, profitability, and risk drivers.
