Our Developmental and Behavioral team serves as a referral resource for general pediatricians, neonatologists, child neurologists, and other pediatric subspecialists. Patients are seen for evaluation and management of issues including autism, ADHD, learning disorders, premature newborn follow-up, psychopharmacologic management, craniofacial disorders, and neurodevelopmental follow-up of congenital heart disease.The Nurse Coordinator will provide specialized patient care and education for patients receiving testing and examinations in an outpatient pediatric setting. We are looking for a candidate that is passionate about helping children with developmental disabilities that has prior experience or an eagerness to learn.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Performs and documents assessment of the patient/family (biophysical, psychosocial, developmental, cultural, spiritual and environmental); collects and analyzes data from the medical record to coordinate patient care.
- Directs and/or provides patient care in clinic, which may include discharge patient education, new diagnosis resources, therapy resources, follow up instructions, new medication education instructions, ADHD or ASD rater instructions for testing.
- Provides appropriate counsel and education to patients/family regarding disease process and symptom management.
- Maintains medical records requiring appropriate and timely recording of patient information.
- Acts as liaison and team leader by facilitating communication and coordination of care between patients, families and health team members; explains routines and procedures to patients and coordinates patient care information to appropriate sources.

Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program with two years of nursing experience.
- Current RN licensure in the state of Missouri and/or Illinois, depending on location, in accordance with the Compact Act.
- Basic Life Support Certification or obtains certification within one month of employment. Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements.
