JOB TITLE: Lead Software Engineering
REMOTE TYPE: Office Worker
JOB LOCATION: 208 S. Akard Street, Dallas TX 75202 [and various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S.; may work from home]
DUTIES: Lead Software Engineering needed by AT&T Services, Inc., in Dallas, TX [and various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S.; may work from home] to Design, code, test, debug, and document new and existing components to ensure that software meets business, quality, and operational needs. Responsible for the design and development of various initiatives for AT&T’s customer and employee digital experience across our consumer distribution channels. Support the software product development life cycle from inception to production launch and post-production support. Design modular and scalable web components. Support large cross-organizational software development projects. Use current web and micro-service technologies. Align development teams on a shared technical direction and partner said teams to elaborate on the solution and its interfaces. Work with portfolio stake-holders and solution. Work with enterprise architects to develop, analyze, split, and realize the implementation of enablers. Build high quality code following unit testing and test-driven development. Establish critical NFRs at the solution level and participate in the definition of others. Participate in code and document reviews. Collaborate with peer organizations, dev ops, and support organizations on technical issues and provide guidance. Interpret and translate business needs into technical requirements and accurate estimates. Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies, and processes to ensure the highest quality and performance. Work with teams to troubleshoot code level problems quickly and efficiently. Apply technical expertise to resolve programming and design problems. Focus on scalability, security, and availability of all applications and processes. Contribute to design and architecture in order to enable secure, scalable, and maintainable software. Contribute to technical roadmaps and technical debt elimination through balancing time, resources, and quality constraints to achieve business and strategic goals and requirements. Build Java based, high volume, and high transaction e-commerce applications. Create web applications using Java and Spring. Support software migration and upgrade initiatives of applications on evolving technology stacks. Participate in Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) activities for software components deployed to on-premise and cloud environments. Contribute to building capability for periodic application performance and provide health monitoring reporting to portfolio leads and stakeholders.
REQUIREMENTS: Requires a Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent degree, in Applied Mathematics and Applied Computer Science or Computer Science, and 2 years of experience in the job offered, or 2 years of experience in a related occupation designing, coding, testing, debugging, and documenting new and existing components to ensure that software meets business, quality, and operational needs; supporting the software product development life cycle from inception to production launch and post-production support; designing modular and scalable web components; using current web and micro-service technologies; building high quality code following unit testing and test-driven development; establishing critical NFRs at the solution level and participating in the definition of others; participating in code and document reviews; contributing to design and architecture in order to enable secure, scalable, and maintainable software; building Java based, high volume, and high transaction e-commerce applications; and creating web applications using Java and Spring.
