Security Dispatcher

Our partner is looking for a Security Dispatcher in Bloomington, MN to ensure the safety and security of guests, tenants, and employees. The role involves receiving calls, relaying messages, handling requests for assistance, and operating electronic systems located inside Dispatch.

Responsibilities:

• Promptly answer incoming radio and telephone calls, prioritize requests for assistance, and dispatch appropriate personnel following established procedures.
• Interpret, analyze, and anticipate the caller's situation to resolve problems effectively.
• Utilize quick decision-making skills and sound judgment, adhering to security policies, procedures, and relevant statutes.
• Request assistance from local or federal law enforcement agencies when necessary.
• Monitor alarm systems and respond to trouble signals according to procedure.
• Proactively search and scan the Closed Circuit TV system for routine issues, criminal activity, and suspicious behavior.
• Receive and respond to emergency and non-emergency calls, maintaining composure in high-stress situations.
• Maintain detailed, accurate, and complete logs and records.
• Compile digital video and audio footage from generated reports.
• Enter, process, and retrieve computerized data as requested.
• Answer guest questions and provide assistance as needed.
• Maintain the safety and cleanliness of the facility.
• Ensure regular, reliable, and consistent attendance.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum age requirement: 18 years old
• High school diploma or equivalent (post-secondary education preferred)
• No record of conviction for crimes against persons or property
• Exceptional customer service skills
• Strong typing skills with speed and accuracy
• Willingness to work variable shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• High aptitude for computers and technological systems
• Ability to follow instructions, establish priorities, and multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, able to think quickly in high-pressure situations
• Excellent communication skills, including clear speech, effective listening, and written proficiency
• Six months of prior public safety/security dispatching experience or equivalent education preferred
