The Software Architect is responsible for designing and managing Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions within the organization. Duties include developing strategies for identity governance, implementing security protocols, and ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations. The Identity Architect collaborates with stakeholders to align IAM solutions with business objectives and provides technical leadership to the IAM team. A strong background in IAM technologies, cloud platforms, and excellent problem-solving skills are essential for this role.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and manage Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions.
- Develop strategies for identity governance, authentication, authorization, federation, and access management.
- Regularly assess the identity management environment, identifying gaps, and implementing necessary enhancements.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to the IAM team by offering expertise in identity management technologies, practices, and standards to guide in implementing robust solutions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Work closely with governance, risk and compliance, security operations, directory services, integrations, and infrastructure teams to ensure coordinated efforts towards effective identity management.
- Compile, analyze, and summarize data and trends related to identity systems, presenting comprehensive reports for assessment and action.
- Adhere to organizational policies and procedures, including ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations and best practices, while safeguarding assets related to identity management within the University's framework.
- Implement Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and other security protocols in alignment with identity management systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve IAM related issues and incidents.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience. Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered.
- Proven experience as an Identity Architect or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of IAM technologies and protocols such as SAML, OAuth, OpenID, SCIM, and LDAP.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their IAM services.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred:
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CCSP.
- Experience with programming languages such as Java, Python, or C#.
- Knowledge of DevOps and Agile methodologies.

- Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data.
- Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
