Job Summary
Components of USSOCOM have the responsibility to execute large-scale training exercises designed to enhance readiness and prepare SOF units for deployment. At SOF Component Commands, contractors will provide their expertise to facilitate planning and execution of SOF core activities and SOF-Conventional Force integration, augment/replicate critical staff planning positions, and provide SOF exercise planning and execution products throughout the Joint Event Life Cycle (JELC) IAW SOF, Joint, Service, and GCC training objectives. This position supports the MARSOC RAVEN exercise.
Job Tasks:
- Update RAVEN CJSOTF and SOTF OPORDs to better prepare the training force in the RAVEN scenario.
- Develop a Plan of Actions & Milestones (POA&M) to track major milestones in support of RAVEN exercises.
- Prepare Commanders Update Brief and battle-track all training participants’ activities for both current and future operations ensuring the Common Operational Picture (COP) is accurate and up to date.
- Maintain the operations tracker which keeps the command informed of all major activity during RAVEN exercises.
- Synchronize assets required for training between the G7 and contracted/supporting entities.
- Schedule and ensure ranges are available for training and all requirements are met for conduct of operations.
- Train battle captains on the operation of the G7 Cine-massive and exercise portal used during the exercise.
- Schedule facilities for upcoming planning conferences as well as draft calling messages that outline specific details for the planning conferences.
Experience and Education:
- Prior SOF (O4-O5/E9/CW4)
- Minimum 12 years of special operations experience
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience with the Joint Training System (joint exercise planning management)
- Minimum of 4 years’ recent experience serving in a SOF tactical or operational level headquarters (SOJTF or JSOTF)
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience developing SOF tactical-operational level products to support GCC, TSOC/JSOC, and SOF Component SOF and CT exercises
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience directly interfacing with senior staff (O5/O6 and GOFO) at the TSOCs, Components, GCCs, Services, Interagency
- Excellent presentation, communication, and organization skills; proven skills in formal classroom delivery
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience as a platform instructor in a Professional Military Education/training environment preferred.
