Role Overview:
The Senior Manager of Testing and Violations is responsible for the active management of all testing, violation tracking, and deficiency clearing of all Otis units under service, modernization, and construction in New York City. This individual will manage a team of field supervisors, administrative coordinators, and third party partners to effectively schedule and execute tests as prescribed by the New York City Department of Buildings as well as mitigate violations and financial risks to the business.

Job Responsibilities
- Ability to fully utilize and adapt to changing technological resources including various DOB sites and databases
- Incumbent has an operational goal through coordination and management of information and resources to minimize our fine exposure and ensure that all testing and clearing are complete on time.
- The individual will be responsible for managing both the sales and service operations specifically for testing and violations management. This includes overseeing the testing and clearing supervisors as well as sales associates. Individual is responsible for all Category 1, Category 5 and violations related testing, repair, open order coordination and execution.
- Ability to interact and communicate effectively with customers, team members, and Otis management is critical for this role
- Self-motivated to work independently and efficiently in a competitive, customer focused environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to generate stakeholder interest are critical for this role
- Ability to improve the operational systems, processes and policies that support the organization's mission; specifically, to support proactive safety approach, better management reporting, information flow and management, business process and organizational planning
- Ability to work in a highly dynamic team environment
- Ready to take on new challenges daily, be detailed oriented, and able to prioritize
- Strong business acumen with demonstrated business decision making skills
Experience/Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in the elevator industry required
- NYC Elevator Agency Director License
- Knowledge of NYC Buildings Code, ASME code, and relevant Reference Standards and other Laws and Regulations enforced by Department
- Familiarity with the UpVate software platform
- Extensive technical background in vertical transportation systems
- Prior leadership experience is preferred
- The selected candidate must demonstrate solid leadership, effective team building, strong communication and presentations skills to effectively develop relationships with internal customers
- Candidate must be an assertive, goal-oriented individual who is a team player
- Candidates must have demonstrated good business decision making in previous positions
- Must have strong sales and financial acumen, customer focus and be an active leader in EH&S programs
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required
