The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for a Special Projects Manager, Youth Council for our National Volunteerism Team. The location for this position is flexible and remote.

The National Youth Leadership Council Project Manager is responsible for managing activities, engagement, and outcomes for the Association’s National Youth Leadership Council (Youth Council) and related activities that amplify youth voice nationally and across the Association. The National Youth Council Manager is a direct report of the National Senior Volunteerism Lead and supports the American Heart Association in elevating youth voice in program design and a variety of other projects.
The Manager will work collaboratively within the Volunteerism department and cross-functionally across the Association with, but not limited to, cross functional teams such as School Engagement, Field Development, Community Impact, Advocacy, Consumer Health and ECC. The Manager will work to maximize relationships with other organizations and clubs to build engagement in the high school and college space with high impact, relevant, best in class volunteer experiences.

Responsibilities
NATIONAL YOUTH LEADERSHIP COUNCIL
- Provide development, management, guidance and coordination of the National Youth Leadership Council
- Manage the processes for recruitment, application, and selection of Youth Council members
- Serve as a liaison to region/local market/national leaders across the Association to build awareness, facilitate recruitment processes, select and offer ongoing support to Youth Council members
- Establish and maintain strong positive developmentally appropriate relationships with youth and young adults so that they can successfully serve on the Youth Council.
- Coordinate and facilitate virtual and in-person activities related to the Youth Council.
- Work closely with other key stakeholders in the high school and college space including Portfolio Leads working with HBCUs, HSIs, School Engagement, organizational alliances and University Relations and Recruitment Director etc. to lead Youth Council members in the design and development of service-learning projects and opportunities with clear goals and system for measuring impact.
- Lead Youth Council members in the design and development of a formalized recognition process for youth volunteers. Work with local, region and national stakeholders.
- Assist in designing and implementing listening sessions and other events that elevate the voices of youth volunteers from diverse backgrounds.
- Work with Youth Council members to advise on social media engagement strategies.
- Provide support on community collaboration opportunities.
- Prepare fact sheets, overviews and other documents that inform stakeholders of the purpose and activities of the Youth Council
TRACKING AND REPORTING
- Compile summary information on progress, provides briefings and other updates to team members and stakeholders across the network
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate program notes, records and related information about Youth Council applicants and membership, including representation – demographics, geographic, agency size, program experiences etc.
- Work in partnership with the data and insights group and others in the to evaluate the impact and effectiveness of the Youth Council, High School and College Heart Clubs and related youth voice efforts with KPIs.
- Track Heart Club inquiries, applications, registrations and rosters
- Capture CRM information and manage reporting to the field
