AECOM Is seeking a Traffic Monitoring Supervisor in Pompano and Ocoee, Florida at the Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise Traffic Management Center (TMC)

Job Description

  • Front line leader who is responsible for providing leadership, guidance & direction to control room operations personnel.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide vision, leadership, and direction to Control Room personnel.
  • Takes lead role in workflow coordination.
  • Responsible for the overall quality of staff’s work and oversees projects.
  •  Ability to clearly convey thoughts, messages, ideas, or other guidance to other individuals both in writing and verbally and ensure comprehension & understanding. Exceptional communication skills.
  • Ability to prepare for and actively participate in after action reviews, Stealth reports, or other communications/debriefings as needed.
  • Ability to develop and modify Control Room work schedules based on operational needs & contractual obligations.
  • Assist in the routine review and updating of Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) & Standard Operating Guidelines (SOG). 
  • Ability to clearly convey expectations & accountabilities to personnel regarding performance and hold periodic reviews to report results.
  • Ability to effectively delegate work assignments to personnel for task completion and personal development purposes.
  • Demonstrated work ethic & individual integrity above reproach.
  • Ability to adapt communications and leadership style based upon the situation and individual(s).
  • Decisiveness in decision-making, judgement, and ability to be assertive when required.
  • Ability to establish, manage and meet deadlines for multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Identify current industry trends or TMC best practices and analyze suitability within Control Room operations for implementation or adaptation.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • HS + 2 or more years prior experience as a Traffic Monitoring Operator or other related experience.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Must be able to synthesize information from multiple, diverse, and simultaneous inputs.
  • Must pass a state and federal criminal history/security background check; must also successfully complete Florida Department of Transportation fingerprint-based screening. 
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods of time monitoring Intelligent Transportation Systems such CCTV camera displays, meters, law enforcement radio broadcasts, answering/responding to calls and communicating to staff or partner agencies. 
  • Constantly operate a computer and other monitoring equipment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associates degree or greater in a relatable discipline; or practical experience in a similar role; 1+ years working in a leadership capacity; experience in traffic management or emergency services. 
  • Ability to work calmly and accurately under pressure.
  • Effective oral and written communications skills for in-person, radio, and phone conversations.
  • Experience in leading, mentoring, and evaluating
