*Pay Range: $37.15 - $55.73 USD hourly
 

POSITION SUMMARY: 

The candidate's primary responsibility as a Sr. Data Wrangler will be to efficiently gather the necessary materials based on the show's requirements for various departments such as Integration, Modeling, Lookdev, Texturing, Lighting, Tracking, Previs, Layout, and Rigging. This will enable us to create assets for the show using Method Studio's advanced pipeline. It is of utmost importance that the candidate collaborates closely with and follows the guidance of the Data Capture Supervisor and leads. The candidate’s expertise will be essential in capturing indoor sets, exterior locations, props, vehicles, and characters using our innovative pipeline and technology.

Furthermore, the Data Wrangler will provide valuable support to the senior members of the Data Capture team. It is crucial that they have a deep understanding of industry standards, including computer hardware, camera equipment, photography, 3D modeling fundamentals, and software tools for data organization. Their exceptional spatial skills and keen sense of color and design will greatly enhance the frontend workflow of our method pipeline.

An exciting aspect of this position is the opportunity to travel with the Data Capture team to collect the necessary data for the show. They will play a vital role in logistics, organization, and equipment maintenance, ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations. Their knowledge of hardware and software tools for processing scan data, as well as photogrammetry techniques for reconstructing real locations into virtual sets, will be invaluable.


MAIN DUTIES: 

 The Sr. Data Wrangler will be providing support during filming. They will be implementing a robust backup system to ensure data security and prevent loss. They will be meticulously labeling and logging all captured data, including file names, timestamps, and camera information. They will be orking closely with the VFX Supervisor and Director of Photography to understand VFX requirements and capture necessary data.


Other duties include:

  • Capturing high-quality reference photos (textures, props, etc.) for use in post-production.
  • Assisting with creating lighting diagrams and set measurements for VFX purposes.
  • Demonstrating excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with various crew members.
