Where You Fit

As a Revenue Manager, you will work highly cross-functionally with our scientific and sales teams to own the entire revenue cycle process from contract inception through cash collection. This role is both operational and technical in nature as it involves working with our technical teams to derive forecasted and actual progress on revenue-generating projects, and applying accounting standards to complex revenue contracts.

What You’ll Do

• Work cross-functionally with scientific project managers to forecast quarterly revenue projections and track against actual results
• On a monthly basis, maintain audit-ready documentation of percent complete and revenue recognized for each contract.  Record revenue journal entries as part of the monthly financial close process.
• Own the technical accounting research and documentation for revenue contracts under ASC 606 Contracts with Customers. Prepare accounting memos documenting technical accounting conclusions as needed
• Develop cost of goods sold allocations and record related journal entries on a monthly basis
• Work directly with external financial statement auditors to provide audit evidence for revenue recognition and cost of goods sold, and contribute to related financial statement disclosures
• Work cross-functionally with Business Development to review draft contracts and optimize from an accounting perspective
• Prepare and send invoices to customers on a monthly basis, and follow-up with customers for payment
• Follow established processes and controls to ensure work is accurate and in compliance with accounting standards

What You Need

• 4+ years in an accounting role, with experience in technical revenue accounting
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• Public accounting experience strongly preferred
• Experience with NetSuite preferred
• Strong excel skills
• Self-motivated individual with a willingness to learn and proactive in taking on new initiatives
• CPA or progress towards CPA strongly preferred
