This Operations Lead role is a strategic partner within the Siri and Information Intelligence (SII) team. SII is the largest AIML engineering team focused on developing Siri and Search products and features across the entire Apple ecosystem. In this role, you will work closely with and support a senior SII leader while ensuring the entire team operates at a high level, communicates efficiently (internal and external to the team), and consistently improves processes to drive efficiency and deliver on key milestones. Furthermore, by streamlining logistical and tactical work, this role will enable leaders to spend more focus on critical initiatives.
Description
- Drive strategic processes: Ensure the leadership team is setting effective OKRs, communicating with clarity and transparency, and taking effective action on team culture topics - Handle breadth: The needs of the organization are numerous and constantly evolving. This role will need to handle a very wide variety of focus areas as the situation demands - Partner well: Partner closely with the respective team leader to devise an organizational strategy and assess priorities. Partner with the SII Chief of Staff to generalize work to the broader organization where possible. Represent the organization in key executive meetings - Streamline logistics: lead hardware distribution across the organization to ensure adequate testing is performed on pre-release hardware while maintaining device accountability; exhibit incredible follow-through. Turn complicated multi-person work into an execution plan - Business Operations: Lead key business operations tasks like space planning, lab management, seating caps, headcount planning and management, talent planning, budget, etc. Collect and consolidate organizational leaders' input on these topic areas, including key calibration meetings across team leads. Make recommendations from the organization-level point of view - Enhance culture: Help identify cultural areas for improvement and turn them into action. It could include but is not limited to - career development, transparency, hiring, team surveys, training, communication, etc. Ensure regular communication to the organization, including but not limited to planning and coordinating content for all team and all manager meetings - Develop leaders: Use the outstanding vantage point of this role to ensure that the organization leaders are identifying areas of personal development and making progress on them - Communicate optimally: Author org-wide emails, process documents, root cause analyses, and exec presentations. Have productive, critical discussions with senior leaders - Organize & lead special meetings/events: lead staff meetings, organize team events (all staff, extended leads), drive recognition programs for large releases, flag and drive awareness around Apple and AI/ML events - Connector: PBP, PM, XFN teams, Finance, Legal, etc.
Key Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience directly supporting DIR+ leaders as a strategic thought partner, including strategic plan development, leadership offsite facilitation, and fiscal planning (Chief of Staff or HR capacity)
- 2+ years experience leading and implementing Key Apple people and talent processes; examples: organizational talent planning (i.e. 9 block), TCP, Folio allocations, annual fiscal budgeting
- 3+ years of experience directly supporting Global Teams remotely, specifically teams throughout APAC and EMEIA regions.
- Proven delivery of landing critical initiatives, positive cultural improvements, and organizational changes for teams of 1000+ FTEs
- Strong interpersonal skills and track record of successful business coaching
- History of using data to drive decisions and possessing a bias to take action
- High level of detail while simultaneously running multiple focused efforts with positive results
Education & Experience
Bachelor in BA or HR is preferred. Masters or MBA are considered a plus.

- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $134,000 and $266,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
