Description of position:
This position is in the Division of Habitat & Species Conservation’s Business Office serving as the Business Manager for the Wildlife Diversity Conservation (WDC) Section and the Office of Conservation Planning (CPS). Provides procedural, policy and operational guidance including but not limited to administrative, purchasing, accounting and budgetary management. Consults with division managers to identify administrative problems that impact fiscal, purchasing or property management and recommends suitable solutions.

Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare, analyze and monitor internal operating and Fixed Capital Outlay (FCO) budgets providing oversight for assigned sections including but not limited to timely, accurate preparation of monthly budget summary reports, budget amendments, releases, allotment adjustments, expenditure corrections, and financial reporting.
  • Coordinate with section staff to resolve coding, expenditure or encumbrance issues.
  • Monitor expenditures by category and trust fund and coordinates corrections or adjustments to budget expenditures to ensure spending remains within authorized limits; and evaluate and implement cost-saving measures.
  • Review and coordinate WEX coding and invoice processing for the Division and makes updates to the WEX system as needed.  
  • Serve as a PCard Advocate for assigned sections providing oversite and assistance with PCard Works transactions.
  • Assist division employees with purchases to ensure compliance with purchasing rules and guidelines.
