Senior Accountant

What Does a Senior Accountant at Fiserv Do?

As a Senior Accountant at Fiserv, you will be instrumental in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial processes while bringing advanced expertise to the team. Utilizing your deep analytical skills and comprehensive experience, you will take responsibility for the preparation and posting of complex journal entries, perform detailed account reconciliations, and support the overall monthly financial close process. Your contributions will enhance compliance with GAAP standards and improve operational efficiency. This position offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence financial reporting and decision-making within our dynamic organization.

What You Will Do:

  • Prepare complex journal entries for month-end close
  • Conduct thorough reviews of supporting documentation and financial schedules, ensuring completeness and accuracy for all journal entries.
  • Ensure appropriate revenue recognition by analyzing customer contracts and preparing in-depth monthly revenue trend and variance analysis reports.
  • Perform comprehensive balance sheet reconciliations across various accounts, including accounts receivable, deferred costs, accounts payable, and deferred revenue, identifying discrepancies and resolving issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with GAAP and organizational policies, providing expert recommendations for best practices.
  • Maintain and enhance SOX internal control procedures and documentation to support the compliance framework.
  • Assist in internal and external audits, delivering essential documentation and insights to facilitate the audit process.
  • Carry out ad-hoc analyses and reporting, addressing complex accounting matters as they arise.

What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • 4+ years of experience in general ledger accounting, month-end close processes, or relevant audit experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with data analysis tools(. SQL, Power BI)
  • Experience in accounting principles, including GAAP, with practical application in various scenarios.

What Would Be Great to Have:

  • Master’s degree in accounting or finance
  • CPA or CMA certification.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.
  • Extensive experience with balance sheet reconciliation and analysis.
  • Experience in investigating and resolving complex accounting issues.

Important information about this role:

  • This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and lead to stronger productivity.
  • In order to be considered, you must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without need for sponsorship, now or in the future.
  • This is a full-time, direct-hire position, and no contract options for unsolicited agency submissions will be considered.
