In this role, you'll play a crucial role in </span><strong>building the first dedicated IoT/embedded test practice at Bloq.it, designing automated frameworks and “break-the-locker” stress regimes that guarantee rock-solid quality across hardware, firmware, and cloud connectivity.</strong></p><p dir="ltr"><strong>What will be your responsibilities</strong></p><ul> <li> <strong>Own the IoT/embedded test strategy</strong><span>—define standards, tooling, and metrics for functional, regression, performance, and stress testing of smart-locker devices.</span> </li> <li> <strong>Design and implement automated test frameworks</strong><span> (HIL, SIL, network simulators) that integrate with our CI/CD pipeline for every firmware and hardware release.</span> </li> <li> <strong>Develop rigorous stress and fault-injection campaigns,</strong><span> validating connectivity, power resilience, environmental robustness, and OTA update reliability.</span> </li> <li> <strong>Collaborate with Hardware, Firmware, Cloud, and Field-Service teams</strong><span> to reproduce field issues, identify root causes, and drive corrective actions.</span> </li> <li> <strong>Create and maintain test fixtures and labs,</strong><span> including custom jig design, sensor rigs, and remote-access infrastructure for distributed testing.</span> </li> <li> <strong>Analyze test data and fleet telemetry,</strong><span> building dashboards that highlight quality trends, regression hotspots, and reliability KPIs.</span> </li> <li> <strong>Mentor QA and engineering peers,</strong><span> evangelizing best practices and fostering a quality-first culture across the company.</span> </li> </ul><p><br/></p><p dir="ltr"><strong>What are the requirements to join us in this position</strong></p><ul> <li> <strong>7 + years of hands-on testing experience</strong><span> with embedded or IoT products (MCUs, SoCs, gateways) in high-availability environments.</span> </li> <li> <strong>Proficiency in Python (PyTest, Robot, or similar)</strong><span> and at least one systems language (C/C++, Rust, or Go) for low-level test harnesses.</span> </li> <li> <span>Demonstrated success </span><strong>building HIL/SIL frameworks, automated stress rigs, or environmental chambers</strong><span> and integrating them into CI (GitLab/GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.).</span> </li> <li> <span>Deep understanding of </span><strong>embedded Linux/RTOS internals, bootloaders, OTA mechanisms, and common IoT protocols</strong><span> (MQTT, HTTP, BLE, CAN, Modbus, etc.).</span> </li> <li> <span>Experience with </span><strong>lab instrumentation and measurement tools</strong><span> (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power analyzers, network emulators).</span> </li> <li><span>Strong analytical skills—able to turn raw logs, metrics, and telemetry into actionable insights that raise product reliability.</span></li> <li> <strong>Fluency in English</strong><span>, both verbal and written.</span> </li> </ul><p><br/></p><p dir="ltr"><strong>Extra valued skills</strong></p><ul> <li><span>Familiarity with cloud IoT platforms (AWS IoT Core, Azure IoT, GCP) and edge-to-cloud observability stacks.</span></li> <li><span>ISTQB Advanced, Certified LabVIEW Developer, or similar testing/quality certifications.</span></li> </ul><p><br/></p><p dir="ltr"><strong>What will you get if you join us in this position</strong></p><p dir="ltr"><span>● The opportunity to join our team and play a pivotal role in contributing to innovative solutions that redefine Bloq.it's revolution in the smart locker industry</span></p><p dir="ltr"><span>● A dynamic and fast-paced work environment with a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning</span></p><p dir="ltr"><span>● Competitive salary and benefits package, tailored to your experience and skills, including performance-based bonus and Portuguese health insurance</span></p><p dir="ltr"><span>● Flexible work conditions, including a remote-friendly policy and a flexible schedule that allows you to balance your work and personal life</span></p><p dir="ltr"><span>● Regular meetings in-person at our HQ Office in Lisbon, PT, giving you the chance to connect with the team and immerse yourself in our company culture</span></p
