Join the Sheridan VA Medical Center team as a Medical Support Assistant (MSA) and play a critical role in supporting Veterans' healthcare needs. You will be responsible for scheduling, coordinating care, updating medical records, and ensuring seamless communication between Veterans, providers, and community partners. WORKSITE: Sheridan VAMC – 1898 Fort Road, Sheridan, WY 82801
WORK SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday, 7:00 am – 6:00 pm (8-hour shifts, excluding federal holidays)
PAY RATE: $ 16.50 -$ 17.00 per hour
CONTRACT LENGTH: 12 months

WHAT YOU'LL DO
-
Support the Lead Scheduler and the reception team in scheduling and patient communications
-
Coordinate and authorize Veteran care with community providers when needed

Validate and update patient demographics
-
Process records into CPRS and VISTA systems
-
Manage consults via HSRM, PPMS, and other VA systems
-
Answer and route phone calls professionally within 5 rings
-
Perform appointment scheduling, tracking, and pre-/post-appointment follow-ups

Provide high-quality customer service to Veterans, families, and VA staff

Utilize Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) daily

Adhere to HIPAA, VA policies, and confidentiality standards

Other duties as assigned
WHAT YOU'LL BRING

U.S. residency required
-
High School diploma or GED
-
Oral and written English proficiency

Ability to type at least 50 WPM
-
Basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology

Minimum of 6 months' customer service experience

No health or physical restrictions that interfere with duties
