Inova Health System is seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician Student to join the team. This role will be full-time Monday – Friday, Days/Evenings rotating shifts.

Pharmacy Technician Student Job Responsibilities:

  • Completes the didactic modules of the Pharmacy Technician Training program at the pace set by the director of the program with a passing grade on each module.
  • Asks for assistance if a concept or module is difficult to complete and more assistance is needed.
  • If the maximum number of attempts at a unit test are exceeded, student must ask for remediation of the subject and director of program can authorize additional attempts once the remediation is completed.
  • Modules include Basic Pharmaceutics, Basic Anatomy and Physiology, Vaccines, Pharmacology, Pharmacy Operations, Billing, Special Medication Handling, Inventory Control, Emergency Preparedness, Sterile and non-sterile compounding, Unit-dose packaging, Communication and Calculations.
  • Completes simulations as required.
  • Completes experiential modules at the sites assigned and requirements of each site must be met.
  • Attends regular check ins with program director.
  • Completes and passes final review test with passing score.

Additional Requirements:

  • Work schedule: 8-hour shift (days/evenings rotating shift.)
  • Education: High School or GED.
