Torrent Technologies seeks candidates for a Sr. Flood Underwriter opening based in Overland Park, KS:
What can you expect?
Underwrites new submissions to insure correctly underwriting per NFIP guidelines.
ANFI designation is preferred. If you don’t have it already you will be required to obtain your ANFI designation within first 6 months of employment
In the first 30 days you can expect to participate in a robust training program of class room, on the job and computer based training depending on your underwriting and flood experience

We will count on you to:
Underwrites new submissions to insure correctly underwriting per NFIP guidelines.
Completes policy issuance.
Review all underwriting information to include applications, photographs, elevation certificates and third party internet resources to correctly underwrite the policy.
Respond to Agent inquiries by phone support, online chat and emails.
Proper grammar, language, spelling to professionally represent the organization.
Respond to Agent inquiries by phone, support, online chat and emails. o Meet required production KPIs as defined by leadership.
Proper grammar, language, spelling to professionally represent the organization.
Reviews correspondence from agency including requests for endorsements for acceptability.
Communicates in a concise, tactful, prompt and effective manner both over the phone and by email.
Maintains a positive working relationship with agents, customers coworkers and others.
At management’s direction, perform other duties not specifically set forth but inherent to the Underwriting function
What you need to have:
High school diploma or equivalent
1+ years of flood insurance underwriting
Must be able to obtain ANFI certification within one year of hire.
Excellent written and verbal communication
Basic to intermediate technical knowledge of systems and procedures
Attention to detail
Basic computer knowledge and comfortable using the Microsoft suite. Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook

2+ years of Flood Underwriting experience with ANFI designation
