Manager-Clinical Education and Training (Remote- NC based)

The Clinical Education and Training Manager is responsible for the daily operations of clinical education programs at Alliance Health. This role involves collaboration across the organization to implement a learning strategy that meets the workforce’s evolving needs and develops organizational capabilities. This individual will spearhead the development, implementation and monitoring of specific activities and initiatives that support the established overall clinical education strategy.
This position reports to the Clinical Education and Training Director and has direct reports.
Responsibilities & Duties-
Program Oversight
- Define Alliance’s learning standards and curriculum design for clinical staff and assure engagement and alignment with the Learning and Development Department
- Guide and manage the lifecycle for clinical education products
- Ensure that all educational activities comply with relevant regulatory and accreditation standards and requirements
- Ensure course content relevance for clinical staff driven by industry standards and best practices
- Support the process for obtaining CEU accreditation for the organization, and maintains all the necessary standards and requirements related to it
- Oversee a team of clinical education and training specialists (individual contributors)
Instructional Design
- Develop product concepts and designs to meet the user’s needs
- Develop and organize role-specific learning paths for clinical staff at all levels and for varied licensures
- Collaborate with internal and external subject matter experts to design training curriculum targeted to adult learners
- Evaluate learning initiatives to measure and communicate success and ROI while leveraging technology and learning platforms effectively
- Contribute to building a performance management culture focused on professional growth
- Develop and maintains policies, procedures, desk procedures and other standardized documents as required by contractual and regulatory requirements and aligned with the standards established by the organization’s Compliance department
Communication and Support
- Facilitate inter-departmental workgroups
- Participates in committees and workgroups as necessary
- Assist with course evaluation and data analysis
- Implement, curate and manage a robust library of clinical educational resources
Project Management
- Develops, implements, maintains and manages a method to track and monitor various clinical training requests
- Prioritizes, assigns and ensures completion of training requests
Minimum Requirements-
Education & Experience
Required:
BA in healthcare, business, education or related field, and a minimum of 7 years of adult learner instructional design/digital media experience.
A minimum of 5 years in a managerial role and 4 years of integrated health plan experience is required.
Preferred:
Master’s degree in healthcare, business, education or related field preferred.
Lean Six Sigma or PMP certification preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities-
- High aptitude for owning projects from ideation through execution
- Experience in a fast paced, integrated health care environment
- Expert in educational technology, software and learning management platforms (LMS)
- Expert in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with others and move projects forward
- Leadership and managerial skills with ability to inspire and motivate individual contributors
- Prior experience leading a geographically diverse team
- Highly self-directed, reliable and accountable
- Results oriented with a focus on accountability and overcoming obstacles
