General Management

About the role
This position reports to the Nutrition GBU President. The Global Business Director is an experienced and highly collaborative executive who supports the Nutrition GBU President (and broader leadership team) by providing strategic planning, project management support, project leadership, and decision-making support in the day-to-day operations of the business. A successful Global Business Director is very capable at managing and leading through influence (vs. hierarchical authority), embracing transparency and building strong relationships. The role will sit on the Nutrition Leadership team and will be responsible for driving positive impact across all commercial and operational groups.
Your responsibilities
- Act as a key advisor to the President, offering insights, analysis, and recommendations on a wide range of issues, including business strategy, internal processes, and organizational effectiveness, with active involvement in the development of the GBU’s Strat Plan & Annual Plan. The Global Business Director will play a pivotal role in helping the President to define, drive and maintain focus on priorities and key initiatives.
- Coordinate and/or manage cross-functional projects and initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Lead Nutrition Leadership Team Operations, planning and executing key business management & strategy forums such as monthly meetings, quarterly offsites, NOLT (Nutrition Operations Leadership Team), Operating Connects with the CEO, market visit organization support, while also coordinating with the owners of the NILT (Nutrition Innovation Leadership Team) to ensure connectivity & efficiency across forums.
- Support & play a key role in GBU M&A initiatives.
- Serve as a liaison between the President and corporate teams, functions, and with other GBUs, facilitating communication and collaboration.
- Oversee the preparation of executive-level materials, such as reports, presentations, and briefings, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
- Lead the strategy behind and development of communications from the office of the President (quarterly GBU & ad hoc townhalls, email updates to employees, etc.) and select GBU communications like the Annual Report, Investor Relations support to Finance, presentations at corporate events, etc.
- Support the President’s Executive Assistant in managing the executive's schedule, prioritizing appointments and engagements based on strategic importance and urgency.
- Represent the President in meetings and events as needed, making decisions, and taking action on their behalf when appropriate.
- Assist with the development and implementation of organizational policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Foster a positive organizational culture, promoting collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement.
The experience we're looking for
- Proven experience in strategic commercial and/or marketing roles and developing complex initiatives and strong business partnerships
- Full commercial understanding of corporate and operational business issues, including all elements of strategic planning
- Depth of knowledge across North American and global compliance and regulations around the products and their landscape a plus
- Strong understanding of marketing strategy, planning issues, budgeting, priority setting, project management
- Complete understanding of P&L management
- Experience with M&A programs is preferred
- Strong marketing capability development understanding
- Highly analytical, proficient with the technical competencies of marketing, modelling and analytics
