Job Description
AECOM is seeking a highly qualified Senior Transportation Planning Manager - Corridor and Master Planning for immediate employment in Texas. This position offers the opportunity to engage in diverse planning work, including multimodal planning, sustainability, and advanced transportation planning. As a crucial member of our team, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in our transportation planning division in Texas.
The position entails the following critical responsibilities:
Project Oversight and Management:
- Direct and manage complex multimodal transportation planning projects, including feasibility studies, corridor studies, long-range transportation plans, freight plans, pedestrian & bicycle plans, border transportation master plans, and safety action plans.
- Ensure adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
Leadership and Client Relations:
- Serve as a key representative of AECOM, embodying the company's values and professional standards.
- Provide expert guidance to clients, both internal and external, on transportation planning matters.
- Facilitate seamless integration of planning and engineering efforts within project teams to establish a robust decision-making framework
Data Analysis and Implementation:
- Oversee the collection and analysis of multimodal transportation network data, economic indicators, freight statistics, and international trade information to support evidence-based decision-making.
- Implement innovative planning processes and generate high-quality deliverables, including comprehensive reports, detailed graphics, and sophisticated web-based products.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Conduct thorough stakeholder outreach and public involvement initiatives.
- Organize and lead high-level meetings and presentations with key stakeholders, ensuring clear communication of complex transportation concepts and plans.
Project Evaluation and Prioritization:
- Develop and critically evaluate alternative conceptual designs for transportation projects.
- Consolidate project alternatives based on rigorous analysis and stakeholder input.
- Identify and prioritize projects using established criteria and methodologies.
Business Development:
- Collaborate closely with the local area business development team and senior management in the strategic development and execution of significant project pursuits.
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with external and internal clients, industry associations, potential consultant team members, and contractors to enhance {URL}'s market position.
This position requires a high level of expertise, leadership, and commitment to advancing transportation planning in Texas and beyond.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- BA/BS + 10 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and / or education, including 2 (two) years of leadership experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 10+ Years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience in multimodal transportation projects including planning and data analysis, economic evaluation, freight analysis and demand modeling.
- Bachelor’s degree in planning or civil engineering.
- AICP or PE Certification is required.
- Bilingual (Spanish + English) abilities are a plus.
- Understanding of the state and regional transportation planning frameworks and processes in Texas.
- Demonstration of effective leadership skills as a project manager, key task leader, or deputy
