About the role

Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae) is dedicated to bringing comprehensive genetic information into mainstream medicine to improve healthcare for billions of people! Our team is driven to make a difference for the patients we serve. We are leading the transformation of the genetics industry, by making clinical-grade genetic information affordable and accessible to guide health decisions across all stages of life.

The Salesforce Team leverages their platform expertise, deep understanding of business processes, and the latest Salesforce technologies to optimize operations, enhance customer interactions, and drive growth. We design and develop robust, scalable, and user-friendly Salesforce solutions that empower Sales, Customer Support, Billing, and Marketing to manage the entire Invitae organizational lifecycle, from presales and sales to ordering, customer collaboration, complaints, billing, and post-sales activities. Our work primarily focuses on maximizing the utility of Sales Cloud and Service Cloud to enable these critical functions.

We have an opening on our team for a Senior Salesforce Software Engineer.  The primary responsibility of this role will be to alternate between new feature development and production support activities, such as user setup, data loads, and incident support. This role involves working closely with the product team and other platform team members to deliver high-quality work with significant business value. The engineer will support our commercial, service, and billing teams, ensuring the optimal performance of our Salesforce org and providing creative, best practice solutions to business stakeholders.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and Own Projects: Take ownership of software development projects from conception to deployment and support, including design, architecture, implementation, and monitoring. Deliver projects that include product or platform and stakeholder teams, ensuring timely and high-quality outcomes.
  • Mentorship and Guidance: Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering technical growth within the team. Conduct code reviews to ensure quality standards and best practices are followed.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver scalable, best practice solutions with a focus on exceptional user experience. Collaborate with administrators and developers in a SOX-controlled HITRUST environment using Agile methodology during the US Pacific Time Zone.
  • Technical Expertise: This is very much a hands-on technical position.  Maintain and continually improve APEX triggers, controllers, batches, and services. Deliver new features using Salesforce technology, including Lightning Web Components (LWC) and Flows. Maintain legacy code and configuration, including LWC, JavaScript Controllers, CSS, and HTML.
  • Configuration and Automation: Administer and build solutions on Experience Cloud, Sales Cloud and Service Cloud to support evolving business processes. Implement configuration changes focusing on automation and maintainability. Build and test Flows, Validation Rules, and configure custom and standard objects in a highly integrated environment.
  • Problem Solving: Proactively identify and resolve technical challenges, troubleshooting complex issues. Define solutions and operational processes to level up the team. Lead ambiguous projects or systems and create clarity for them.
  • User and Security Management: Understand all aspects of user, security, access, territory management, and license management.
  • Architecture and Roadmap: Contribute to the overall architecture and technology roadmap. Identify and design solutions to ambiguous, open-ended problems.
  • Business Context: Understand the business context and how it intersects with the team's goals. Ensure ongoing optimal performance of the Salesforce org and bring creative, best practice solutions to business stakeholders.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be hands-on technical and be solid in technical design.  This does have some technical lead aspects but will still be actively hands-on as a developer.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in software development.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Salesforce Administrator.
  • 3+ years of Salesforce Lightning development experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Experience Cloud, Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and preferably Marketing Cloud adjacent technologies.
  • 5+ years of experience with customization on the Salesforce Lightning platform and Lightning App Builder, including declarative and code-based tools.
  • Experience with complex, highly integrated SFDC orgs.
