Key Responsibilities
- Design and author complex Houdini TOPs networks to support scalable workflows
- Develop custom processors and tools using Houdini’s native Python modules
- Collaborate with custom scheduler teams to optimize task execution
- Coordinate with the Render Farm team on Deadline setup and configuration
- Partner with software development leads and pipeline teams to align on cross-department initiatives and scheduling
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as an FX artist using Houdini in production
- 5+ years writing Houdini pipeline code in Python
- Strong understanding of Houdini, Solaris/USD, and Hydra render delegates
- Experience with PDG/TOPs and building groom pipelines in Houdini
- Familiarity with volumetric capture and virtual production
- Working knowledge of Python scripting in Nuke
- Experience in a Pipeline or Production department
- Passion for exploring new Houdini features and improving workflows
- Demonstrated ability to design artist-friendly tools without sacrificing functionality
- Proficient in writing clear technical documentation for cross-functional teams
- Understanding of object-oriented design in complex pipeline environments
- Experience with REZ and Gaussian splats is also valuable
