Workday's Cyber Defense team helps protect an ever-growing technology, global footprint. We are responsible for monitoring, detecting, and responding to threats to the company and maintaining the trust of our customers. Functions like Security Response, Threat Intelligence, Detection Engineering, Secure Code Development and many others make up the fabric of who we are and what we do daily around the world.

About the Role

This role will support one or more direct or indirect contracts with the U.S. Federal Government which, due to federal government security requirements, mandates that all Workday personnel working on the contracts be United States citizens (naturalized or native).

We are seeking a Senior Manager to lead a team of security engineers dedicated to Insider Threat and Data Protection across multiple environments. You will help Workday build and mature our program, tooling, and capabilities in these areas. You will work closely with leadership from our partner teams to continuously build and improve processes to identify and mitigate insider threats to the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Workday information systems and data. This role requires the ability to navigate technical, regulatory, and relationship-building challenges across the organization.

About You

  • Basic Qualifications

    • This position requires a TS/SCI with CI POLY security clearance. Applicants must already possess a valid and active TS/SCI with CI POLY security clearance.

    • 8+ years of experience in incident response, insider threat, threat detection, or threat hunting.

    • 3+ years of experience monitoring, investigating, and remediating insider threats.

    • 3+ years of experience managing operational security teams.

    • BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or equivalent job experience.

  •  Other Qualifications

    • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.

    • Familiarity with insider threat detection tools and technologies such as UEBA, SIEM, and DLP.

    • Ability to develop, build, and drive multiple security programs while maintaining operational excellence.

    • Proven ability to coach, guide, and develop others to their full potential.

    • Experience with data analysis including the ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data to report to senior leadership.
