The Medical Director at Veritas Veterinary Partners is a visionary leader and an integral part of our practice’s success. Combining clinical expertise with strategic insight, the Medical Director balances hands-on patient care with leadership responsibilities. This role drives clinical excellence, mentors the medical team, and ensures Veritas' standards for quality, collaboration, and compassion are upheld. The Medical Director spends a minimum of 50% of their time providing direct patient care, making this role both impactful and deeply connected to the core of veterinary medicine.


Core Purpose of the Medical Director Role:

  1. Champion of Medical Quality and Compliance
    Medical Directors uphold the highest standards of clinical care, ensuring protocols are current, safe, and effective. This role includes regular reviews, staying abreast of veterinary advancements, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement that inspires the team to deliver exceptional care.

    With a focus on team growth and development, the Medical Director serves as a mentor, supporting veterinarians in their professional journeys and promoting a learning-oriented environment. Core Operational Responsibilities:
The Medical Director works closely with the Hospital Director to oversee clinical operations, quality standards, and team development. Reporting to the Regional Operations Director (operations issues) & Chief Medical Officer (medical practice issues), this position ensures medical protocols, patient care, and compliance with regulatory standards, contributing to the overall success of the hospital.

  1. Clinical Operations and Quality Assurance
    • Lead the implementation of medical protocols, ensuring the highest standards of patient care, safety, and regulatory compliance.
    • Regularly review and update clinical procedures, working with the team to uphold consistency and excellence in every aspect of patient care.
  2. Financial Oversight and Budget Management
    • Collaborate with the Hospital Director to set and manage the hospital’s clinical budget, balancing quality care with operational efficiency.
