Job Description

What’s the role?

We are looking for engineers to collaborate in building high-volume data pipelines to optimize the performance of Etsy’s advertising campaigns and enhance customer data privacy.

This is a full-time position reporting to the Engineering Manager, Customer Data & Engagement, and the base salary range will be 128,000 - 153,000 USD per year. In addition to salary, you will also be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and our competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Etsy. For this role, we are considering candidates based in the United States who are either remote, flex, or office-based. What’s this team like at Etsy?

• The MarTech Customer Data team is responsible for building and supporting high-impact marketing data integrations.
• We partner closely with cross-functional engineering, marketing, analytics, and privacy teams. We also collaborate with external vendors to build integration pipelines for pushing and pulling data privately and securely.
• Etsy is built on Google Cloud Platform, and our Web stack runs on PHP and MySQL. 
• Our Stack includes Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, Cloud Tasks, PHP, Apache Airflow & Kafka.

What does the day-to-day look like?

• Implement high-quality software solutions in an agile environment
• Communicate and collaborate with internal and external teams to build reliable data pipelines.
• Define methods and metrics for monitoring your team’s system health. 
• Participate in on-call rotation to support the team’s data pipelines. 
• Contribute to your team’s documentation and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

• Have one or more years of practical software development or data engineering experience.
• Write understandable, testable code with an eye toward maintainability and scalability.
• You are comfortable working on cross-functional projects with product managers, business, stakeholders, and data analysts to maximize the impact of our work.
