About the role
Northwest Kidney Centers seeks an Accounts Payable (AP) Lead to support the Accounting Team in a full-time, hybrid position (Burien, WA).Shift: Full-time, Monday-Friday, Hybrid.PurposeThe Accounts Payable (AP) Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the accounts payable function to ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and expense reimbursements. This position plays a key role in maintaining vendor relationships, supporting month-end close activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal controls, and driving process improvements. The AP Lead serves as a critical support partner within the finance team and collaborates with cross-functional departments to resolve discrepancies and uphold financial integrity. Duties
- Accounts Payable Operations:
- Review, approve, and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of invoice processing and payment batches.
- Reconcile the AP sub-ledger to the general ledger to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Maintain vendor records, ensuring compliance with W-9 and 1099 reporting requirements.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes by preparing schedules and resolving AP-related issues.
- Compliance and Controls:
- Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory standards.
- Provide documentation and support for internal and external audits.
- Identify and implement process improvements to strengthen controls and enhance efficiency.
- Vendor and Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Build and maintain positive relationships with vendors by addressing inquiries and resolving payment issues.
- Coordinate with procurement and other internal departments to investigate and resolve discrepancies in invoicing or payments.
- Team Support and Development:
- Train and onboard new team members in AP processes and systems.
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to team members
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
- 3-5 years accounts payable experience, including at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory position.
- Prior experience in healthcare or nonprofit environment preferred.
- Proficiency in MIP and iPayables accounting systems.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.
