About the Department

The University of Cincinnati Department of Athletics competes at the highest level of intercollegiate athletics with the vision to reach Next Level Success for all 18 varsity teams and more than 500 student-athletes. Job Overview

The University of Cincinnati, Football program is seeking candidates for a Director of Football Technology (Sports Program Associate). This is a full-time position, salaried, with a comprehensive benefits package.

 

Reporting to the Special Assistant to the Head Coach, the Director of Football Technology will oversee video and technology operations ensuring all audio and visual equipment, and technical needs are met for the Football program. 

 

The successful candidate will collaborate with internal and external partners in executing the goals and mission of the program.  

Essential Functions

• Responsible for all aspects of Video Coordination within a sport program including: Capture video of all practices and games. Manage and organize the in-house and cloud-based statistical analysis tools; Supervise the game entry and statistical reports used by coaching staff in game strategy preparation; Provide technology setup for game tape review, presentations, game tape exchanges with other college and NFL teams, etc.; Recruit, train and supervise technology and video student assistants; Ensure all Football Technology is operating properly including diagnosing and resolving computers issues, maintaining media servers, database servers and cloud servers containing multiple TB’s worth of data; setup and configure new hardware and software in the football center; Work with external companies on the design and maintenance of all Football program systems and platforms; Act as liaison with external AV equipment companies. Keep current on technology to properly maintain equipment, make recommendations, and coordinate the purchase of new equipment; Liaison between the department/university technology technicians and the Football program. 
• Identify program needs and implement program improvements.
• Collaborate with staff to perform administrative tasks in line with program and department goals. Serve as ambassador of the program and look for opportunities to connect the program to the community and business partners. 
• May be required to drive a university vehicle and/or student-athletes. 
• May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e. hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, approve time off, etc.)
• Perform related duties based on departmental need. 

Required Education

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Four (4) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
