Summary

We are seeking a Local Driver to join our team at Central Transport. In this role, you will be responsible for transporting goods efficiently within designated local routes. Your expertise will contribute significantly to our commitment to providing exceptional service and value to our customers.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a commercial vehicle on local routes to deliver goods.
• Load and unload cargo as required, ensuring proper handling of all items.
• Maintain accurate logs of driving hours and vehicle inspections.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while on the road.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules.
• Perform routine maintenance checks on vehicles to ensure optimal performance.

Requirements

• Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) required.
• Proven experience in truck driving or delivery roles preferred.
• Strong knowledge of local traffic laws and regulations.
• Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles is essential.
• Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with team members and customers.

Our Local Pick Up and Delivery Drivers are the face of our company and vital to our customer relations, they are responsible for ensuring that our customers' freight is delivered on time and damage free. Qualifications:

• CDL A License/3 Months of recent tractor trailer experience required
• Must be willing to obtain hazmat/tanker endorsement within the first 90 days of employment
• Acceptable motor vehicle record
• Stable consistent work history
• Ability to pass drug/background screen
