Field Engineer - AHV

Applied High Voltage (AHV) is an electrical engineering and construction company with expertise in high voltage grid interconnection and transmission. AHV delivers top-notch talent, personalized service and quality Electrical Engineering to execute EPC projects. We are seeking a Field engineer to work with our construction and testing team at our construction sites across the continental US.
Position Summary:
Individual will be responsible for ensuring facilities are complete, safe and ready to energize.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Position:
- Plan, prepare and execute test plans as needed.
- Plan and perform functional testing of complex protection schemes.
- Perform and/or oversee substation SCADA commissioning
- Responsible for overall quality and conformance to specifications of the project.
- Communicate progress and issues to Project Manager and others within the company management structure.
- Identify, provide options and resolve issues on projects.
- Track and organize project testing documentation for inclusion in closeout packages.
The successful candidate will have the following Skills/Experience/Abilities:
- Ability to professionally represent the Company with clients, owners, vendors and subcontractors
- Push issues to resolution
- Self motivated
- Strong verbal, presentation, and written skills
- Excellent ability to understand technical drawings & ability to understand specifications
- Capability and inclination to research and self-teach unfamiliar subject matter
- Understanding of protective relays and schemes including overcurrent, differential, line, voltage and frequency protection applications
- Strong computer skills in MS Office, Doble Protection Suite, RTS, SEL Acselerator, Adobe and others as needed
- Perform in-service checks in energized substations
Requirements:
- Minimum Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience in industry (10+ years) preferred.
- Travel: 50% average
- Clean driving record
- Work in challenging ambient conditions including, outdoors, hot and cold temperatures and loud noises
- Must be able to lift and carry heavy equipment and materials up to 60 lbs.
- Must be able to work in elevated positions.
- Understand working safely in energized substations.
- OSHA 10 hour (min)
- NFPA 70E
- FA/CPR training
- Ability to obtain NICET or NETA level 2 or higher qualifications
