Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist physicians and nursing staff with patient care, preparing patients for examination and treatment, and taking patient histories and vital signs

  • Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments, administer injections, and perform lab testing and phlebotomy

  • Provide information to patients to help them benefit from clinic services, and support the Registered Nurse in monitoring and improving the health outcomes of individuals served

  • Coordinate with Residential RN for hospital visits, discharge planning, and other medical needs, and communicate health concerns to the agency team

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation, and perform general lab and phlebotomy duties

Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant Program or Licensed Practical Nurse in applicable state

  • CPR certification preferred

  • Phlebotomy training and previous lab experience preferred

  • One year of experience in a physician office setting preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • ADA Consideration - Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (exists up the 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (exists 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, or pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.

  • Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
