About the role

Business Unit Finance

The Business Unit Finance job plays a critical role in providing strategic financial support to the business. The primary focus of the role is on short and long-term financial planning and/or financial analysis of business unit operations for the purpose of measuring and forecasting future business unit performance. This role owns short to mid-term execution of financial planning/analysis strategy and informs the financial direction of the business unit. This job partners with the business to drive and inform strategy through significant business engagement, delivery of financial transparency, accountability frameworks and thought leadership. The role is critical to driving financial decisions that enable the business unit to achieve its financial objectives. This role also supports strategic investment decisions by measuring financial outcomes of business strategies.



Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Advises senior leadership regarding strategic and operational business unit decisions based on financial trends and performance

  • Directs analysis of internal financial information including expenses, headcount, flows, and revenue for the purpose of measuring and forecasting future business unit performance.

  • Develop and reviews financial reports to understand trends, predictive analytics and market driven perspective to drive strategic guidance.

  • Leads end-to-end annual planning and forecasting processes for the business unit

  • Approves quantitative analysis of financial data in order to ensure that recommendations are sound and defensible.

  • Drives financial accountability through education and deep engagement with the business unit.

  • Drives process improvements leveraging automation to produce and deliver results efficiently to the business

  • Develop executive presentations that translates data into impactful, meaningful financial storylines

  • Proactive financial management to identify risks and partner with the business to propose mitigation opportunities

  • Serve as trusted partner to the business while challenging the status quo

  • Drive team culture, development and mentorship by supporting processes of regular, timely feedback to ensure delivery of exceptional products and engagement

Educational Requirements

  • University (Degree) Preferred

Work Experience

  • 8+ Years Required; 10+ Years Preferred

Required Qualifications:

  • 8 + years relevant experience in senior finance roles with proven track-record of providing financial guidance and leading end to end financial planning and analysis (FP&A) processes

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10 + years relevant experience in senior finance roles with proven track-record of providing financial guidance and leading end to end financial planning and analysis (FP&A) processes
  • University degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Master’s degree preferred
  • Experience with executive presentation preparation as well as managing senior business relationships
  • Proven ability to connect financial performance to business storylines
  • Proven ability to partner horizontally in matrixed environment
  • Advanced modeling & analytics skills
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Systems experience with Tableau and EPBCS

Base Pay Range: $170,000/yr. - $185,000/yr.

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.  In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
