Staff Fullstack Application Developer
Procore TechnologiesAbout the role
Job Description
What if you could use your technology skills to develop a product that impacts the way communities’ hospitals, homes, sports stadiums, and schools across the world are built? Construction impacts the lives of nearly everyone in the world, and yet it’s also one of the world’s least digitized industries, not to mention one of the most dangerous. That’s why we’re looking for a talented Staff Full Stack Developer to join Procore’s journey to revolutionize a historically underserved industry.
As a Staff Full Stack Developer on Procore’s Data Engineering and Analytics team (part of our Data, Technology, and Security organization), you will be responsible for building our internal-facing, centralized data, and analytics portal from start to finish. This is an exciting opportunity to help us design and develop applications that let our business stakeholders make sense of their data. End-users of this application will be all Procore business users - subject matter experts, decision-makers, and analysts alike - so you will be optimizing for speed and scalability on the front and back end. We are looking for an experienced full stack developer to be a technical design leader passionate about building this new internal data experience to make interacting with key product and business data fast, simple, and painless for Procorians.
The ideal candidate is passionate about building sleek, intuitive, and extensible experiences for internal business users and also comfortable designing and constructing infrastructure, databases, and APIs. You are knowledgeable in platform-level features and have a knack for authorization and authentication of web applications. You place an extraordinary value on user experience and have an eye for what works and what doesn’t. You know good tooling from bad and care about optimizing your development experience. You’re passionate about interacting with end-users and watching your work in action.
This position will report to our Director, Data Intelligence and can be based in our Carpinteria, CA headquarters, Austin, TX office, or work remotely from any US location. We’re looking for someone to join our team immediately.
What you'll do:
Architect brand-new application solutions to build the front and back end of our internal-facing data and analytics applications
Create, design, and implement layouts for new and existing web pages that fulfill project requirements
Create and maintain APIs to support the application
Contribute to new and existing applications
Participate in architecture and application design discussions with other development, data engineering, analytics, and data platform teams
Review code and mentor fellow team members
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver application solutions
Work in a fast-paced, dynamic, agile environment, planning features and prioritizing changes based on team goals, product usage, and user feedback
Contribute to ongoing documentation, codebase maintenance, and bug fixes
What we're looking for:
8+ Years of full stack development
Strong experience building, packaging, and debugging applications (prior experience working on internal-facing data and analytical applications a plus)
Advanced experience with one or more programming languages (Ruby, Python, Java, JavaScript, C#)
Advanced experience with React or Vue.js, including functional components and hooks and with utilizing Typescript, HTML, CSS, Javascript, and data visualization libraries like D3
Solid understanding of both OOP and Functional Programming concepts including good Flux patterns.
Advance experience in optimizing page load times and quick access to the data, including web performance profiling, troubleshooting, and optimization.
Experience with API design and usage
Experience with standard web development tools and services, such as version control software, package managers, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud deployment. Preferred experience in AWS
Eye for UX design, a mind for engineering simplicity, and propensity to program to interfaces -- not implementations
Experience writing and running unit, integration, and end-to-end tests
Ability to work in an Agile environment for prototyping quick delivery of application solutions, a self-starter, able to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively and independently
