KWS Seeds LLC is looking for a full-time permanent Inventory Manager in Kimberly, ID. This position leads, manages, and organizes all functions related to the processing, inventory, intake and upkeep of breeder seed and other material. This individual is expected to be the local expert in seed processing protocols from the initial receiving of incoming product through packaging and distribution of the finished product. Within this role, it is the responsibility of the individual to ensure adequate training, acurate records, and internal seed quality standards are met. Other responsibilities include budget tracking, investment planning, personnel development, communicating across the local and global station network, and innovative process improvement thinking.
Tasks:
- Ensure internal seed quality standards are understood and are met or exceeded while meeting capacity and safety requirements
- Ensure all inventory transactions and shipments are accurate and provide necessary reports to internal customers and stakeholders
- Manage, organize, and lead seed processing and various seed room activities ensuring priority timelines are met
- Manage breeder seed inventories and storage areas through internal databases
- Manage the preparation of shipments, communications, and tracking receipt of materials
- Responsible for training new and existing team members (both FTE and Contract Laborers) on seed processing procedures, seed pulling, treating, packaging, and shipping procedures
- Create/ maintain/ improve SOPs for all activities through internal databases
- Assist in sugarbeet root intake and inventory process into storage
- Organize sugarbeet root staging in preparation for planting season and communicate with local Station and Breeding stakeholders throughout the process
- Monitor and provide input on yearly budget and needed investments for area of responsibility
- Provide/ seek out personnel development and cross-training opportunities for direct reports
- Participate in local and global working groups
- Ensure Company handbook, Rules, Guidelines and Procedures and safety policies are followed including the correct use of all personal protective equipment
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in agronomy, agriculture, business, biology or related field, or 4 -6 years equivalent work experience
- Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving history
- Currently have or have the ability to obtain and Idaho Private Applicators licesnse (Chemigation and Seed Treatment)
- Knowledge and experience in seed technology, crop production, and research
- Supervisory skills to efficiently manage small work groups
- Ability to work variable hours if needed
- Ability to work independently and within a team with adaptability
- Strong computer skills preferred, with a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook
- Strong communication skills and prioritization of work, to ensure deadlines are met for processing, planting, and shipping seed
- Demonstrated aptitudes in record keeping and organizational skills
Offer:
- A salary between $59,000 to $75,000. This role is also eligible for an annual bonus. This reflects a reasonable estimate of the targeted base salary for this role. Based on factors such as geographic location and candidate qualifications, actual base pay is determined when an employment offer is made
